NATALIA M. PADIAL WEBSITE
MSCA-GF fellow at @scrippsresearch (enanSET)
BIOGRAPHY
Dr Natalia Muñoz Padial holds a degree in Chemistry at the University of Granada in 2010. Afterwards, she studied the Official Master of Chemistry at the same university. The Master Research Project titled “Synthesis of bispyrazolate ligands with low steric requirements for the building of MOFs with high porosity” was developed in the dept. of Organic Chemistry in collaboration with the dept. of Inorganic Chemistry (2010-2011) with Excellent qualification.
Her research career started in 2010 at the University of Granada. After finishing her studies in Chemistry, she obtained a fellowship “Formación de Personal Docente e Investigador (FPDI)” granted by the Junta de Andalucía in 2012 for conducting a multidisciplinary Ph.D. thesis entitled “Applications of Pd and Ti catalysts in new C-C bond forming processes and synthesis of Porous Coordination Polymers” under the supervision Prof J. E. Oltra (Dept. Org. Chem.) and Prof. J. A. R. Navarro (Dept. Inorg. Chem.). She defended her international Ph.D. thesis on 2016, obtaining the highest grade (“sobresaliente, Cum Laude”, Extraordinary Award by University of Granada and Doctoral Thesis Award of the RSEQ). After obtaining her Ph.D. she obtained a postdoctoral fellowship granted by the Junta de Andalucía, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships_Global (MSCA- IF-2016-749359-EnanSET) and “Juan de la Cierva Formación 2016” (declined for MSCA). In 2017, she carried out a post-doctoral stay at Instituto de Ciencia Molecular (Centre of Excellence María de Maeztu) in the group of Dr. C. Marti-Gastaldo to complete her multidisciplinary research by targeting the development of heterogeneous titanium catalysts. Nowadays, she is a Marie Curie postdoctoral associate at Scripps Research in the group of Prof. Phil S. Baran.
Moreover, she has experience as teaching assistant and co-advisor of thesis in organic synthesis. In addition, she has participated in the organization of scientific conferences and has been involved in outreach activities for academic and non-academic public. Also, she is collaborating with world-leading pharmaceutical companies as Pfizer and Bristol-Myers Squibb during her Post-Doc in USA.
